USPS Mail Tracking & Informed Visibility

Mail isn't a black box anymore. We track every piece through the mail stream and turn the scan data into reports your clients can see and triggers your campaigns can use.

One of the first mail piece tracking systems

Tracking is personal for us. Michael Hemphill built one of America's first individual mail piece tracking systems for bulk mail, letting clients follow each piece as it traveled the country and report on delivery times. We've been refining that work ever since.

What we build

Piece-level tracking

Every mailer carries a unique Intelligent Mail barcode. We collect the USPS Informed Visibility scan data and match it back to each record, so you know where every piece is, not just the mailing as a whole.

Delivery timing and postage analysis

We've automated delivery timing and postage analysis using metadata streams from USPS Informed Visibility. Our automations adjust for delays at any point in the delivery process and learn which entry points and presort choices actually arrive fastest.

Delivery-day triggers

When a mailer is out for delivery, that's the moment to follow up. Tracking data can trigger an email the day the piece lands, a text reminder, or a sales call for high-value recipients.

Client-facing tracking portals

Give your clients a login where they can track jobs, inventory and each mail piece, see in-home dates and download reports, without calling your customer service team. More on portals.

USPS Informed Visibility, working for you

These services can send emails from the USPS alongside your mailers, track the delivery process and create delivery triggers for the next step in a campaign. For shops, tracking also answers the question every client asks: "Did my mail go out, and when will it arrive?"

Good fits

  • Mail shops that want to prove in-home dates to clients
  • Triggered and time-sensitive campaigns (events, casinos, promotions)
  • Programs that coordinate mail with email, text or calls
  • Shops comparing entry points, presort options and print locations
