Not a plug-in

PSL Page Builder doesn't need a graphic design application such as InDesign to render images and output, so it delivers much greater flexibility, capacity and speed.

Design elements can be created in a design application and imported, or created dynamically. PSL Page Builder doesn't choke on large amounts of variable or graphic elements. Charts and graphs

PSL Page Builder creates dynamic charts and graphs without importing them from Excel. That speeds up production and allows more design flexibility: charts can be color coded, with full shading and perspective, in any number of formats.

Dynamic shapes and vivid colors

Surround text with custom outline boxes or ovals and vary their size, shape and color. Include spot color in the background or as a variable. Color sells, and it's easy to use.

Typesetting and word processing

Complete control of text formatting, with comprehensive word processing and advanced typesetting. Commands can be applied globally, locally or dynamically.

Versatile content controls

Control what content goes on a page and which page to use for a record, which words or phrases from the data go where, which typesetting commands run, background colors and almost any other element. Content errors can be managed to fit the project. All content and formatting options can be invoked manually or based on data.

Imposition

• Print multiple images on each sheet with full control of n-up layouts. Output can be in presort order, and "Dutch cut" layouts (an odd number of images per sheet) are supported.
• Imposition happens inside PSL Page Builder, not the RIP. Cuts can be optimized, and bleeds, gutters, crop marks and margins controlled.

Barcodes

All standard barcodes are included, including IMb and QR codes. Barcodes are created natively rather than with a font, which avoids truncation. Barcodes can also use random numbers and counters for raffle tickets and similar jobs, and PURLs are easy to include.

Address Box

USPS regulations require specific address formatting for anything entering the mail stream. The Address Box applies those requirements to every address automatically, with the IMb in the correct location. See Address Box vs Formatted Text Box.

Dynamic Content Management (DCM)

Managing data takes time. The DCM tool manages changes and updates globally or within a project, saving time and reducing errors and omissions.

No size limits

Condition Manager

The Condition Manager adds variable pages to a PDF by selecting which page prints based on a compound statement built in a dialog box. It's very handy for co-mingling jobs, and another way to program without coding.
